Some scientific facts seem crazy, here is a selection of craziest scientific facts that we now need to add to our intellectual pigsty.

When you sleep and daydream, one part of your brain is making up a story, while another part is watching events, wondering if there are unexpected plot twists. Dinosaurs lived so long that dinosaur fossils existed during their lifetime. Trees can communicate and cooperate using underground mycelium. They can store excess energy internally for later use, exchange various nutrients with their neighbors to meet their needs, care for their children when they are unwell, and even warn others of sickness or spread of parasites. Hippo sweats with sunscreen. They produce "sweat" made up of red and orange pigments. Red pigments contain antibiotics, while orange pigments absorb ultraviolet rays. Whales sing a specific song depending on where they were born, but they learn others throughout their lives from whales they encounter. Live and learn. The atoms of our bodies contain elements that can only be produced in centers of stars, which, after death, spread these elements throughout the universe and into our existence through supernovas. We are made of stardust. I recently read about split-brain experiments. One treatment for severe epilepsy is to cut nerve that connects two hemispheres of brain, so that two hemispheres can no longer communicate with each other. Experiments have shown that both hemispheres can answer questions independently, have different opinions/preferences, and form memories independently. Essentially, this shows that there are two minds in the brain. It just drives me crazy. Some types of anesthesia do not dull pain but make you forget what you are going through. So it hurts and it doesn't hurt. If entire history of Earth is compressed into one day, people will not appear until last second before midnight. There is a species of jellyfish called Turritopsis dohrnii that becomes young again when damaged or stressed. Because they can get younger over and over again, they are immortal.
